ECG Early Career Exchange Program
The IACAPAP Early Career Group (ECG) is pleased to invite applications for the IACAPAP ECG Early Career Exchange Program.
This program aims to support the professional development of early career child and adolescent mental health professionals by providing a structured international observership, training, or academic exchange opportunity and by strengthening global collaboration within the IACAPAP network.
A grant of up to USD 3,500 (three thousand five hundred US dollars) will be provided to cover airfare, transportation, and lodging expenses, reimbursed upon submission of eligible expenses.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
| Duration: | The program must have a minimum duration of four weeks. Upon the fellow’s request, the duration may be extended up to a maximum of 12 weeks. However, any extension of the internship period will not result in an increase in the amount of the grant awarded to the fellow. |

The applicant should secure an institution and a mentor according to the following criteria:
- The host institution must be recognized for excellence in child and adolescent mental health, training, or research;
- The mentor must hold a senior academic or clinical position with experience in supervision;
- The host institution and mentor must provide a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
Applicants must submit an invitation letter meeting at least one of the following criteria:
- An institution ranked within the top 100 of the applicant’s field in QS or Times Higher Education (THE) rankings; or
- A public research institution ranked within the top 250 in the Scimago Institutions Rankings; or
- A mentor holding at least a doctoral degree, affiliated with an institution abroad, with a CNCI or FWCI score ≥ 1.00.

Application Materials
• Curriculum Vitae (CV):
A CV highlighting clinical and research experience in the area to be further developed, including relevant clinical projects, research projects with clinical application, and international training or research stays.
• Motivation Letter (maximum 1 page):
A statement outlining the applicant’s motivation for the exchange, professional goals, relevance of the program to current and future career plans, and expected outcomes of the exchange.
• Learning Plan (maximum 2 pages):
Provide a detailed description of the proposed project and learning plan, including the relevance of the program in which the applicant intends to participate. The description should also address the feasibility of implementing or consolidating the acquired knowledge and skills at the applicant’s home institution. In addition, it should outline the expected value that the program will add to the applicant’s clinical and research expertise, highlighting the level of scientific evidence supporting the project and its degree of innovation.
• Letter of Support:
An official letter from the applicant’s home institution or supervisor supporting the exchange and confirming institutional approval and commitment.
• Invitation Letter:
An official invitation from the host institution confirming acceptance of the applicant and specifying the dates, duration, and hosting institution of the exchange.
Responsibilities
• Ethics:
Fellows are expected to adhere to IACAPAP ethical standards and host institution policies.
• Active Participation:
Active engagement in clinical, educational, and/or research activities during the exchange period, in accordance with the approved learning plan.
• Final Report Submission:
Submission of a final report within six months following the completion of the exchange, summarizing the activities undertaken, competencies gained, and the clinical and/or research outcomes of the program.
• Knowledge Dissemination:
Dissemination of the knowledge and experience gained at least one of the following:
1. Article publication in the IACAPAP Bulletin, and/or
2. Presentation of the work as an oral or poster presentation at the following IACAPAP World Congress.
