30th IACAPAP Lunch & Learn Webinar

Wednesday, 22 July 2026
1:00 PM AEST | 3:00 AM UTC | 5:00 AM CEST | 11:00 PM EDT (21 July)

Topic: Improving our clinical outcomes through measurement based care

It is well recognised that there is a significant ‘voltage-drop’ between the outcomes demonstrated in clinical trials compared to those seen in day-to-day clinical practice. While it is easy to explain these away by citing the complexity of these real-world clinical presentations, or a lack of resources to provide gold-standard care it is also possible that we do not always make the best use of the available treatments and that we could be doing better. In physical medicine measurement-based care is frequently used to ensure that treatment outcomes are optimised and, equally importantly, treatment non-response and clinical deterioration are not missed. This lunch and learn session will focus on the potential uses of measurement-based care in child and adolescent mental health with and consider how these approaches could be implemented in low resource and low- and middle-income settings. We will discuss practical implementation and give suggestions about possible measurement tools and approaches.
