2nd IACAPAP Special Interest Group Webinar on International Pediatric Psychopharmacology

Webinar Details

Date: 19th November 2026 (Thursday)
Time: 1 PM CET | 7 AM EST | 11 PM AEDT | 12 PM UTC
Duration: 60 minutes

Topic: Pediatric Psychopharmacology Around the World: Similar Challenges, Different Solutions — Navigating Evidence, Guidelines, and Local Practice

Clinicians around the world face many of the same challenges in pediatric psychopharmacology, including limitations in the evidence base, differences in medication regulation, availability and access, and variation in how guidelines are developed, interpreted, and applied in clinical practice.

This webinar from the IACAPAP International Pediatric Psychopharmacology Special Interest Group will explore how these factors interact in different healthcare settings. Perspectives from Sweden and Brazil will illustrate contrasting approaches to translating evidence and recommendations into local prescribing practice, including how clinicians use national and international guidelines, adapt recommendations to available treatments and healthcare systems, and address areas where evidence or guidance may be limited.

A moderated international discussion will examine the relationships among evidence, guidelines, and real-world practice; what can be learned across countries and healthcare systems; and how international collaboration can support practical, evidence-informed pediatric psychopharmacology.
