Prof. Dr. Füsun Çetin Çuhadaroğlu

Prof. Dr. Füsun Çetin Çuhadaroğlu, after completing her medical, general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry training  at  Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkiye,  studied Adolescent Psychiatry in U.K. and did a visiting fellowship at Children’s Hospital , Boston, and  a  research fellowship on the NIH-Fogarty International Center Mental Health & Developmental Disorders Program. She had further  training in individual and group psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She was certified by the Professional Education Program of Harvard Macy Institute.  She and her colleagues founded the Turkish Association for CAP and  by their efforts CAP was established as a separate discipline in Turkiye in 1998. Organizations of the 18th Congress of IACAPAP (2008) and Regional Conference of ISAPP (2013) are among her international work. She directed  and participated in projects supported by NIH-FIC, UNFPA, UNICEF, International Children’s Center, World Bank and Willow Foundation . She is the recipient of the national and international awards including the WPA Presidential Award (2006), USA Federal State Award (2008), AACAP Ulku Ulgur M.D. International Scholar Award (2014) and IACAPAP Medal (2020). She is the editor of the first Child and Adolescent Textbook in Turkish and publisher of many papers on adolescent mental health and disorders in both Turkish and in English. Her expertise is in the field of adolescent development and mental health, eating disorders, suicide and nonsuicidal self- injury among youth. She worked on the Executive Boards of IACAPAP, ESCAP and ISAPP. She is currently the Chairperson of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department at Hacettepe University and also working as an expert on the WHO European Region Expert Working Group for the Programme on Mental Health for Children and Adolescents
