Yukiko Kano, MD, PhD

Dr. Yukiko Kano is Director of National Medical and Educational Consulting Center for Children. She treats patients with various neurodevelopmental disorders including Tourette syndrome. Even after retiring from Department of Child Psychiatry at the University of Tokyo Hospital, she continues her involvement in education and research in child and adolescent psychiatry while remaining connected to the department. In her activity, she has maintained a strong interest in compulsivity and impulsivity, and is involved in a wide range of child and adolescent mental health issues, including school mental health and family support.
She serves on the executive boards of several Japanese academic societies related to child and adolescent psychiatry and mental health, including the Japanese Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (JSCAP), and is also the Secretary General of the Asian Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (ASCAPAP).
She has published more than 90 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, as well as more than 200 review articles and commentaries in Japanese.
