Qingjiu Cao

Dr. Qingjiu Cao is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Peking University Institute of Mental Health / Peking University Sixth Hospital, where he serves as Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Ward and Deputy Director of the Center for Child Mental Health. Over more than two decades in the field, he has built extensive clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex and refractory psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.

 

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Cao is deeply committed to advancing professional training and research in child and adolescent mental health. His research spans neuroimaging studies of neurodevelopmental disorders and the etiology and treatment of emotional disorders in young people, with more than 90 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals in the field. His work has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Science and Technology Major Project, the King's College London–Peking University Health Science Center Joint Institute for Medical Research Fund, and the China Medical Board (CMB). In recognition of his contributions, he has received a number of honors, including the Outstanding Professional Trainer Award of Peking University, the title of Famous Doctor of China, the Beijing Outstanding Doctor Award, and the Outstanding Teacher Award of Peking University Health Science Center.

 

Dr. Cao currently serves as Principal Investigator of the China Consortium of Leading Teaching Hospitals in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, where he leads national efforts to establish high-quality, standardized training for subspecialists in child and adolescent psychiatry across China.
