Prof. Dr. Christina Schwenck

Christina Schwenck is professor of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology at the University of Giessen, Germany. She is a trained child and adolescent psychotherapist and a trained supervisor. Her research interests include Selective Mutism, emotion processing, participatory research, and children of parents with mental illness. In her free time, she follows her passion for photography around the globe.
Prof Schwenck was Secretary-General of IACAPAP between 2018-2022 and is currently on the IACAPAP Executive Committee as Coordinator of the (Helmut Remschmidt Research Seminar (HRRS) programme,one of IACAPAP´s flagship research capacity-building programmes for early-career child and adolescent mental health researchers. She is particularly committed to fostering research, mentorship, and interprofessional collaboration to improve child and adolescent mental health care globally, especially in settings where access to specialist training and research opportunities remains limited.
